Inspiration Raw Emotion and Power: Rather than a literal depiction of a horse, Mashaya captures the feeling of a scream—the release of energy, pain, or raw power. The sharp angles and jagged edges symbolize the sonic vibration of a neigh or a cry, making the auditory experience visual.
Mashaya suggests a burst of kinetic energy, as if the animal is breaking through a barrier or reacting to a sudden, intense moment of life.
Material and Color: The Cobalt Stone displays a sophisticated interplay of colors. Large sections of the stone’s natural, oxidized "skin" are preserved in warm, rust-colored ochre and earthy browns. These are set against the polished, dark forest-green interior revealed by the artist’s deep, angular incisions.
