Alice Cooper (Billion Dollar Babies) is the original artwork for the cover of Cream magazine, No. 22, April 1973, reproduced in Angela Atkinson's monograph (p.71). It captures the singer at the height of his glam fame, top-hatted and serpent-entwined, the gold "Billion Dollar Babies" medallion swinging from his hand. The slick finish and Pop assembly of celebrity, lettering and emblem place White in the lineage of British Pop, recalling the music-world portraiture of Peter Blake. One of the iconic covers of his early London years, it stands beside his Bowie cover of the following month as a vivid record of the glam era.
