Experience the essence of the Tuscan landscape, inspired by the artist's recent art residency program staying near Volterra. Each piece captures the serenity of cypress trees, inviting you to explore a unique artistic journey that speaks to your soul through the layers of chaotic collage.
Created using the artist’s own photography which is then applied as a photographic hand transfer with a range of different techniques.
"Using my own photography, photographic transfer, and mixed media (collage, acrylic and printmaking) on materials such as canvas, wood, and oxidised metal. Reality becomes transformed into dreamlike compositions where time, space, and sound seem suspended. Traces of fragile botanical forms emerge symbols of resilience within these transient environments. Drawing on both my English countryside roots and adult life in Italy, my practice balances movement and stillness, structure and fragility. Through layered surfaces and tactile processes, I aim to create spaces of reflection, where the viewer can sense the tension between constructed and organic worlds."
Hannah exhibited recently at Marlborough Open Studios this summer, and other works from this series were selected for the Royal Watercolour Society, London exhibition Re-Imagine 2025.
