"I had always had a passion for expressing myself through painting long before I went to art college, so a few years ago I changed my creative direction back to a realistic style of painting. My works are usually highly detailed observations of life, created with mixed media usually with a basis of watercolour, gouache and heightened with watercolour pencils.
My inspiration comes from the landscapes around me and my love of being by the sea. My subject matter and narrative is not derived from “views” but a visual scrutiny of light, textures, colours and details which combine to create an atmosphere beyond the recording of the scene."
