Sue Bridge
"An expressive rendering of a glimpse of the Wiltshire countryside on a journey home from Devizes. The final piece is composed of two separate sections collaged together. I was struck by the dazzling intensity of the sky which contrasts with the acid yellow of the rape fields. I used powerful pen and ink to capture the movement of the roadside grasses in order to replicate the speed of the car."
"I have been making art for a long time and throughout my career as an artist and teacher I have been sustained by nature. On a broaderscale exploring land and coast through to more intimate garden scenes. I use range of different media which fuel my desire to experiment and explore. I love drawn and painted expressive mark making contrasted with calm and subtle areas. I seek to convey energy and atmosphere in my response to subject matter."
