The climactic moment. All muscles at high tension. All intent on the prey ahead. Motion is powerful and fast. The might of the lion is a fearsome and an awesome beauty to behold. Technique is a rhythm of hard vs. lost edges; detail in the lights vs. empty shadow shapes; focus on the turning of form vs. suggestion of form in the speed of movement.

Sarah is an award-winning artist in portraits, horses and wildlife, currently working in Wiltshire. She visually celebrates the animal kingdom to inspire an emotive reaction to its beauty, to raise awareness and to strengthen the relationship between the Wild and us.

Whilst reading Art History at the University of St Andrews and at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, she continually painted and exhibited. She then pursued training at The Florence Academy of Art and The London Atelier of Representational Art. Exhibitions include the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and Chelsea Art Society.

In 2019’s David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation’s Artist of the Year competition, she was awarded ‘The Artist Magazine Editor’s Choice’ and ‘Winner of Animal Behaviour Category.’ She was also awarded by the Society of All Artists (SAA) ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Young Artist of the Year’ and ‘Best Portrait, Figure or Animal.’
