"One of a series of fairly small pieces I’ve painted in this palette recently, experimenting with different thicknesses of paint, from translucent to opaque. To me it evokes warmth, nature, growth, light and life, as though the spectrum of summer colours have been split by a prism onto the surface."

"After gaining my BS Hons in Fine Art I dealt in art and antiques for many years. Once my children could spare me for a while I began painting again in earnest. Initially my subjects were still life and the magical Wiltshire countryside around me, then I moved into abstraction, which has always excited me. Now my restless mind leads me from figuration to abstraction, and myriad places in between, all informed by the natural world."
