Kirstin White is a contemporary watercolour artist, specialising in live event paintings, commissions, and art lessons.

Kirstin White is a watercolourist living in Hampshire, UK. Passionate about watercolour painting, Kirstin attended Salisbury College of Art between 1979 and 1982. Having initially worked in the field of advertising, she was able to turn to painting full-time in 2005. She has since sold and exhibited widely.

"Hill Head is a favourite painting spot that I visit in all weathers. This painting depicts an occasion when the weather was too inclement for me to paint on the spot. Instead, I sat for a long while in the car, watching the waves breaking. I took videos and made pencil studies of the shapes they made as they hit the beach. Back in the studio, those shapes and the interesting sea greys were still fresh in my mind. To best capture the scene, I elected to use a red gouache ground and to paint onto it with watercolour and gouache."
