Caren seeks to communicate beauty in glass creations, turning the enquiring mind of a scientist to explore light transmission with mathematical geometry. Her distinctive H Collection is inspired by hypotrochoids, mathematical curves that she has translated into innovative kiln-formed glass designs. She has also shared this process through a popular e-book tutorial for fellow glass artists.

Based in Wiltshire, Caren has developed her practice through study with internationally respected artists including Bob Leatherbarrow, Silvia Levenson, and Catherine Dunstan. Her work has been exhibited throughout the UK and gained international recognition when Heart Felt, an anatomical dissection of a heart, was awarded Second Prize in the premier LWAGA Glass Art Competition.

As a glass artist, I’m drawn to forms that balance geometry with emotional resonance. Inspired by the peacocks that roam through Corsham town, this work evokes the essence of their iconic plumage.

This one‑of‑a‑kind piece pushed the limits of kiln‑formed glass and the surface tensions. From a radiant blue centre, 72 crafted feathers radiate outward, each decorated on both sides to deepen colour in transmitted light.

By translating nature’s geometry into glass, I celebrate the elegance of biological design while embracing the human impulse to interpret, abstract, and reimagine it.
