Christopher Poyser
"My work is rooted in a direct , energetic and enquiring response to the Wiltshire landscape, striving to capture a mood ,an emotion and a moment in time rather than a slavishly accurate depiction of what lies before me. Working entirely en plein air, my markmaking creates surfaces rich with tension, rhythm and textural presence.
The work was created on the shoulder of Knapp Hill that gently nudges Golden Ball Hill. It was created entirely enough plein air in an exploratory, inquisitive and experimental frame of mind in response to a landscape bleached by the rigours of an exceptional Summer."
