Stuart Anderson
This handbuilt earthenware work captures the quiet, fluid motion of underwater life. Rising to 25 cm, each sculptural form of the tryptic folds and unfurls like a suspended organism. The matt white surfaces contrast with shadowed interiors that suggest hidden depths. This piece explores how movement can be held within stillness, inviting viewers to experience the gentle, tidal rhythms that shape both oceanic life and the day itself.
Stuart Anderson lives in Ogbourne St Andrew and has been working with clay for several years, developing a practice rooted in an exploration of form and material. His work reflects an ongoing fascination with the possibilities of clay and the character of the making process. Earlier this year, Stuart exhibited a collection of his work entitled Unearthed as part of Marlborough Open Studios 2026, sharing his evolving ceramic practice with a wider audience.
