Kat Morgan
Kat Morgan is a wildlife and nature artist based in Wiltshire. Inspired by journeys to wild places, memorable wildlife encounters and the landscapes she explores, she creates paintings that capture nature’s fleeting moments of wonder in saturated colour and sharp detail.
Working primarily in acrylic gouache, Kat combines close observation with expressive colour and carefully considered composition, often focussing on the intricate details that might otherwise be overlooked. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the natural world and a belief that taking time to notice its beauty can inspire a greater connection with – and care for – the wildlife and landscapes that surround us.
Inspired by photographs taken on a trip to Singapore, where lush greenery is woven into the fabric of the city, this painting draws focus to a single cluster of lilac flowers, swaying in a breeze. Drawn to their luminous green centres, warm golden haloes and the deep, shadowed foliage beyond, I wanted to celebrate the quiet beauty found in fleeting moments, where light transforms familiar flowers into something almost ethereal.
