Zoë Kittow is a self taught abstract painter from Devon whose work balances instinctive mark making with vibrant colour and emotional expression. Exhibited around the UK, a recent highlight was having work shown and auctioned at Sotheby’s for Fair Shot. 

The Devon coast and countryside where she lives are woven throughout her practice: layers of marks that recall tides, wind and seasonal shifts. Living with a dynamic disability and chronic pain informs Zoë’s outlook without defining it; she seeks small glimmers of joy and resilience while acknowledging both light and shadow. 

Her recent series, 'Dancing in the Rain' embraces this tension, the steadying comfort of nature alongside life’s messier truths. Each painting is intended as a space to pause, feel and reflect.

'Amongst the wildflowers' reflects a summer evening’s softness: the sky turning pink, birds singing, and bees drifting among the blooms. I make these pieces to preserve that fragile joy, a refuge for moments when reality feels heavy. The piece asks viewers to slow, look closely, and remember that beauty lingers all around us.
