Jill studied fashion & textile design at Winchester and after working in textiles and retiring she has taken up oil painting. She has exhibited in Bath Open Exhibition, The Pound in Corsham and Malmesbury Town Hall.This painting was done ‘en plein air’ at Great Chalfield Manor gardens.
"I was mainly inspired by the colours of the border against the stone wall, using the mauve foliage, the turquoise, deep purples, pinks and the orange poppies. I was wanting to create an impressionistic atmosphere."
