"I am a self- taught artist and particularly enjoy the immediacy and vibrancy of watercolours. My father was an excellent watercolourist and, after he died in 2012, I took up painting myself as a form of tribute to his memory. I love the ‘buzz’ from striking combinations of colour, brush work and form. There must be something in a painting that excites me - a ‘wow, I love that part’ feeling!"

"I have been lucky enough to visit some fascinating countries in the last few years, including South Africa, the Galápagos Islands, Australia and Nepal. The photographs taken in these wonderful places have inspired many of my more recent paintings. I enjoy the challenge of bringing animals and birds to life on paper as well as painting boats and the sea, and natural scenes, like wildflowers and hedgerows. Recently, I have been exploring more abstract work which is fun."
