"This painting references the hot, dry summer we had in 2025 and is even more relevant this summer in view of the heatwave we’ve had. I am reminded of the long summer of 1976 when, as a child, I roamed over the fields and hills where I lived, near Stroud, and summer seemed to go on for ever."

Tamsin’s creative process is rooted in intuition and expressive mark making. Working primarily in oil, she approaches each canvas as an exploration, layering and removing paint to evoke atmosphere and emotion rather than literal representation. The act of painting becomes a journey, with each work taking on a life of its own as she distils fleeting impressions and memories into visual form.

Inspired by the rolling hills and valleys of the Cotswolds, the changing seasons and subtle shifts in light and landscape inform Tamsin’s practice, creating an ongoing dialogue between the environment and her abstract paintings.

Tamsin graduated with a degree in fine art from the University of Gloucestershire in 2014 and is based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire where she has a studio. She is a member of the Cheltenham Group of Artists and the Sixteen Collective group of artists. Her work is held in collections in the UK and overseas.
