"One of a number of recent works, inspired by a trip to Marrakech. The whole of the Marjorelle Garden - trees and ponds and buildings, were infused with strong colour in the early morning light and I was overwhelmed by the starkly defined shadows falling on the ultramarine painted walls and the patterns they created."
"I am a gardener and work is often inspired by my planting. My studio is in the garden and is a constant changing landscape, through the seasons. I trained initially as a textile print designer, then moved into art education. Colour and pattern are abundant in my work. Travel opens up new subject matter, which I am beginning to develop and I find myself drawn to gardens wherever I am."
