Sheryll K Fox is a landscape and figurative painter working in acrylics and mixed media. Since completing her degree in Art and Dance, her work in theatre and design has deeply influenced her current painting practice. She sketches en plein air and from models to capture a vista or a pose and then explores these ideas further in her studio.

Sheryll’s work has been selected to exhibit at The Mall Galleries in London, The RWA Bristol, The Victoria Gallery in Bath, and The Corsham Gallery. Swindon Town Hall, home to Swindon Dance, hosted her first solo show exhibition in July 2025. Sheryll recently curated an exhibition at The Wyvern Theatre called ‘STAGED’ as part of the Swindon Arts Fringe Festival. She has organised two displays, including her work, at Swindon’s Outlet Centre, and annually participates in Swindon Open Studios, creating an art trail in the village where she lives.

‘A Little Detour’ was inspired by an unplanned stop by the artist and her family to catch a view she hadn’t noticed before. Sheryll’s husband and children are used to these moments, when plans are paused, her sketchbook and camera appear, and a vista is captured. She then works from this reference later in her home studio. The painting features Sheryll’s characteristic warm palette, love of mark-making and gentle textures.
