Sandra Chin is a contemporary painter based in Wiltshire. Her journey as an artist started in 2016 when she took up an opportunity to study at Bath Spa University. She finished her MA in Fine Art in 2018 and her work has been exhibited in the UK since 2017.

"Painting is central in my practice and walking informs my research. Exploring new places and being immersed in nature physically and mentally, inspires me. My work examines the effect that time and the elements have on the landscape. Traversing different terrains, seeing the landscape transformed by the elements and seasons inspire the start of new ideas. 

Through painting I experiment with the abstract, constantly seeking a pictorial language that summarises the visual encounters I have, aiming to say more with less using colour and marks.Inspired by local walks, exploring places where the landscape opens up. Light and weather shaped the experience, with those fleeting memories translated onto the canvas."
