Harriet Shortt is a contemporary collage and textile artist working with paper, stitch, fabric, and storytelling. Her practice explores themes of identity, place, memory, and belonging, using found imagery and symbolic materials. Alongside her art practice, Harriet leads creative workshops for adults, young people, families, schools, and community groups, and works with elderly clients in the care sector, designing person-centred creative activities that support wellbeing and connection.

Harriet has over 20 years' experience using visual and arts-based methods across research, education, and leadership development and is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Creative Methods. Her work has featured on BBC Radio 4 and in the Evening Standard and Ideal Home, and she has recently co-authored two books on arts-based methods and creative inquiry.

This collage brings together botanical prints, seashells, fish, and gold leaf to build an opulent still life that is centred around an antique shell vase. Layered flowers and marine imagery are combined to create something dreamlike, against the black and gold leaf background.
