Bob Rudd: A Life In Colour

5 June - 17 July 2026

Our highly anticipated exhibition of  watercolours by Wiltshire-based artist Bob Rudd is now open at the Gallery.

A Life in Colour presents a striking collection of landscapes inspired by a lifetime of travel and observation. Spanning the Highlands of Scotland to the Cornish coast, and extending to scenes from France and Venice, the exhibition captures mountains, rivers, and rugged shorelines through Rudd’s distinctive visual language of bold colour and dynamic composition.

Working intuitively in watercolour, Rudd evokes the shifting drama of light, weather, and atmosphere, creating paintings that move beyond representation to express the emotional experience of place.

Born in East Anglia, Rudd studied at the Bath Academy of Art (1969-1973) before settling in the West Country. His work reflects a deep engagement with landscape and architecture, shaped by both direct experience and the influence of artists such as Samuel Palmer, John Piper, and Graham Sutherland.
