This is very loosely based on a sky I saw in Falmouth last summer, I often use palette knives in my paintings but this was a bit different as I stuck to brushes and painted this over a couple of weekends, which is quick for me. I generally paint intuitively and it can take me ages to finish a painting. I particularly like some of the rough, raw marks which I have made on this one and have purposely chosen to leave them in rather than paint over and over them to create something polished, I like the energy here.
