Bob Rudd

For more than five decades, Bob Rudd has been recognised as one of Britain’s leading contemporary watercolour painters.

Bob Rudd, RI, A member and former Chairman of the Bath Society of Artists, and a longstanding member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, his work is celebrated for its bold use of colour, dynamic composition and deep connection to the landscape.

 

Born in East Anglia, Bob studied at Bath Academy of Art before making the West Country his home. 

 

Throughout his distinguished career Bob Rudd has drawn inspiration from the landscapes, architecture and coastlines of Britain and beyond, creating paintings that capture not only the appearance of a place but also its atmosphere and emotional character.

 

His achievements include the prestigious Turner Watercolour Award, and his paintings are held in major collections including the House of Commons, House of Lords, BBC Bristol and Longleat.

 

This exhibition brings together a remarkable selection of works inspired by a lifetime of travel, observation and artistic exploration. From the Scottish Highlands and Cornish coast to scenes from France and Venice, A Life in Colour celebrates the vision, creativity and enduring legacy of an artist whose work continues to inspire and delight.
