Threshold 1: explores landscape as a palimpsest, where traces of human presence, memory and time are layered upon one another. Inspired by the ancient landscapes surrounding Avebury and Stonehenge, this mixed media work combines painted collage, textured surfaces and Kintsugi-inspired repair to suggest excavation, renewal and impermanence. References to weathered stone, temporary crop circles and hidden ley lines emerging and disappearing within the surface, invite the viewer to slow down and observe. The work reflects on the fragile relationship between people and place, encouraging us to tread lightly through the landscape that holds stories far older than ourselves.
