Following the response to British Landscapes, the exhibition has been extended into the upstairs gallery with a largely refreshed selection of work.

Bringing together paintings by artists inspired by the landscape of Britain, the exhibition explores the remarkable variety of places that have long provided inspiration to artists—from open countryside and rugged coastlines to woodland, valleys, rivers and the quieter landscapes of the West Country.

 

The new selection offers the opportunity to discover different works and artists alongside some familiar favourites. From atmospheric and expressive interpretations to more closely observed landscapes, the paintings reflect the many ways artists respond to place, light, weather and the changing seasons.

 

With most of the works now changed, British Landscapes is a chance to experience the collection anew.
